Signet Christian School is the new name for Scarborough Christian School.

About

Organization

The high school at Signet Christian School is organized under the popular semester system. This means that the high school year is divided into two terms - September to January, and February to June. The semester system allows students to register even halfway through the academic year and still earn credits toward the OSSD, thus bringing graduation closer. This makes for the possibility of taking advantage of those university and college programs that have a January intake as well as the more customary September intake.

Signet Christian School is dedicated to providing a rich educational and life-building experience to every student. Teachers and administrative staff work diligently to help each student succeed in their studies and achieve their highest potential. Each student will feel that they are an integral part of a positive, invigorating and dynamic student body. Each one will be given every opportunity to learn, grow and mature into a well-developed young adult, able to live a wholesome and productive life in their chosen career.

Safety and orderliness are always top priorities where our students and staff are concerned, and our policies are designed to support this. The school disciplinary code is clearly outlined in the student handbook. Moreover, adherence to the dress code is mandatory; uniforms must be worn at all times, unless students are notified otherwise by the school.
At Scarborough Christian Academy, we are dedicated to maintaining an open, ongoing relationship with the student's home. Throughout the school year, we will keep in contact through newsletters, curriculum nights, and parent-teacher meetings.
As a nonprofit private school, we are able to keep tuition at affordable levels in the hope that we can provide more local families an opportunity to enrol their children. For Canadian taxpayers, we are able to issue a charitable donation receipt for a portion of the tuition fees deemed to be a donation. Family needs are supported through bus services, extended day supervision, and an Annual Education Plan Process with teacher-advisers for students Grades 7 to 12.

Signet Christian School offers a range of Ontario Curriculum credit courses approved by the Ontario Ministry of Education, in the following disciplines: The Arts, Business Studies, Canadian and World Studies, Classical Studies and International Languages, English, English As a Second Language and English Literacy Development, French as a Second Language, Guidance and Career Education, Mathematics, Science, Social Sciences and Humanities, and Technological Education.
